Artemis Plant Colour Watercolors from Natural Plant Dyes (12 Colors, 25 or 50 ml), by Stockmar
Artemis liquid watercolors are purely natural materials. The plant dyes are fluid substances extracted from color-yielding plants that have been precipitated with aluminium oxide and mixed into a wax-resin emulsion, which consists of linseed oil, beeswax, pine, resin and styrax (resin from the amber tree). Typical watercolor techniques like transparent painting and layering let the colors of natural dyes appear especially bright and shiny. Natural dyes also increase one's awareness of color harmony. This concentrated liquid paint should be thinned for best use. Take a little bit of colored paste on your paintbrush and dilute is with a little water - ideally in a small glass container with lid, so that it may be stored for later use. Paint that has dried can easily be reconstituted by adding a little water. Note: Depending on the harvest, climate and other environmental influences, subtle differences in color may occur. Available in 25 ml and 50 ml jars. Colors01 carmine red, 02 vermilion, 03 kamala orange, 05 mignonette (lemon yellow), 07 leafgreen, 09 indigo blue, 11 alkanet red, 14 cutch brown, 15 blue wood black, 30 walnut (brown), 31 madder red (pure), 35 indigo purple. Note: The raw material of the color gum-gutti (golden yellow) is used in veterinary medicine and must be classed as "slightly poisonous." Therefore it is not suitable for children, and Green Rainbow Revolution has chosen NOT to carry this color.
